Canadian Dimension - Left Wing Bastion
Illustration for Canadian Dimension magazine. The article was about how the Canadian Broadcast Corporation has an undeserved reputation as being a bastion of left-wing bias. You can't imagine my joy when the AD picked the sketch with the fortress protected by warriors with giant left wings. This one was a lot of fun to draw - thanks to AD Kevin Doole!

The Outlaw Tree
This piece was inspired by the story of a man in Texas who, twenty-odd years ago, was in trouble with the law and told the sheriff that if he wanted him to come and get him but "bring body bags." The sheriff decided to wait him out. Years passed, and the stand-off continued. The sheriff retired, and a new sheriff continued the stand-off. As of now, the outlaw has outlasted four sheriffs. The story reminded me of Rip Van Winkle in a way - my solution has the outlaw waiting for years and years beneath a Texas oak, his beard growing, his skin weathering until he almost seems a part of "The Outlaw Tree."
